Pro Light+Sound hailed as a major success for the company
A brave decision to locate the new lighting collection on the audio floor of Frankfurt’s Pro Light+Sound — within the ambit of parent company RCF and dB Technology — paid handsome dividends for SGM Lighting over the four days of the show.

The three companies’ large ‘technology village’ was permanently busy throughout, and visitors were able to assess the company’s new LED LINE series — Ribalta, Palco and Stilo Led, with their advanced ‘Full Color’ blending features — along with the Idea Spot, Beam and Wash 300 moving heads. These were presented among 14 new products within a fully-integrated and dynamic visual display which was packed throughout.

Delighted SGM general manager, Alessandra Giorgi, confirmed, “Pro Light+Sound has provided a firm endorsement of the SGM brand. We experienced a great turnout at the booth, with considerable interest in all the new products.”

She attributed this success to the effect of the takeover by RCF Group SpA a year ago. “It has invigorated the company with a new financial stability, creating investment opportunities which has brought new ideas and an enlarged team. RCF Group products are distributed in over 100 countries and this offers new synergies for worldwide distribution of the SGM brand.”

SGM Sales Director Giorgio Radice agreed, adding that this had also brought confidence to customer base, who quickly recognised that the company is undergoing major change. “It was an excellent idea to present SGM as part of an RCF Group corporate stand,” he confirmed.

The stand was brilliantly organised by the staff of SGM’s German office, and visitors were able to relax in a welcoming atmosphere. The show could not have been more positive, said Radice, both from the number of visitors seen, and the new contacts made. The entire SGM sales team was present at the booth to welcome customers, along with the R&D department and the new Product Manager, Gino Passarella.

This is the first phase of a vigorous LED development programme aimed at both architectural and entertainment applications — and further fixtures will be introduced by SGM before the end of the year. The mission to develop first-class LED products will continue in parallel with traditional discharge fixtures, and SGM say they will carry out careful analysis of the light sources that the market now offers in order to develop products that satisfy the requirements of the industry.
